The Wolfsonian offers an exciting array of developmentally appropriate K-12 Education programs that reach more than 2,000 Miami-Dade students and teachers each year. All use the museum's collection to build 21st Century skills such as critical thinking and problem solving, creativity and innovation, and information and media literacy. These skills, in turn, enhance proficiency in communication, collaboration, and cross-disciplinary thinking. Page at a Time (PAT) gives fifth grade students the opportunity to create unique handmade books that address conflict and resolution. These books are then placed on display, in an annual exhibition, for the public to enjoy. Additionally, a new curriculum, Teen Thoughts on Democracy, engages students as they explore freedom of expression, as protected by the First Amendment, through game-based learning and social studies and language arts lessons. Each of these innovative educational initiatives helps youth understand the role of art and design in the modern world and empowers them to make informed choices.
