The Martin Luther King Scholarship Endowment provides scholarship opportunities for matriculating freshmen enrolled at Florida International University and who are Florida residents. The applicants will submit an essay centered on a provided theme which makes references to the life, work and ideals of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The winners must be enrolled as full-time degree-seeking students at FIU with an unweighted high school GPA of 3.5 or above.
This endowment is set up to provide scholarship opportunities for FIU students through the annual MLK Essay Contest. The competition is open during the fall semester and awards are made in the spring semester (January) during the Annual MLK Commemorative Celebration. The awards range from $500-$2,000.
How to Give
- Recurring Biweekly Payroll Deductions – Your Gift Amount will be deducted continuously. (i.e., $1.92 = $1.92 per pay period until you request a change)
