Phase I of the new building that houses the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) is complete. The building’s most remarkable feature is a two-story auditorium that cantilevers 40 feet outwards and 17 feet off the ground. With seating capacity for 484, the Ruth K. and Shepard Broad Auditorium–named after a generous gift from the Broad Foundation–is the largest space of its kind on campus and is outfitted with top-of-the line broadcast media equipment. It has already become the venue of choice for many of SIPA’s and FIU’s high-profile events.
Each of the 484 seats in the auditorium can be named with an appropriate gift. There are 99 seats in the first four rows, the VIP Section, which can be named for a gift of $1,000. There are 385 additional seats that can be named for a gift of just $100. Our goal is to have all seats named by the time SIPA I is officially dedicated. All contributions will be directed toward the completion of Phase II in the SIPA complex.
If you would like to contribute to the building of SIPA by naming a seat in the Ruth K. and Shepard Broad Auditorium, please contact Sebastian Arcos at 305-348-7250 or arcoss@fiu.edu for more information.
