This fund supports the many activities the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry needs to be effective. The uses may include enabling students to attend conferences and faculty to attend pedagogical workshops, providing seed funding for research, supporting chemistry seminars, and supporting strategic planning events.
As an alumnus of FIU’s Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry (BS, ’83) and now as a faculty member in the same department, I can appreciate the impact that even a small amount of financial assistance can have on a student.
