This fund supports the purchase of chemistry texts for deserving students in financial need. Textbooks are expensive and can easily cost more than $350 per semester, placing a financial burden on many students. The Chemistry Book Fund helps motivated students to remain in school and to progress more rapidly toward graduation and their career goals.
Over the years I have approached numerous students to find out why they are not doing well in my courses. It saddens me to hear it is because they cannot afford the required book. I try, as many of us do, to somehow get them access. Contributing to the Chemistry Book Fund will make it possible for students to achieve their full potential.
