FIU After-School All-Stars is a partnership between the FIU College of Education and the national After-School All-Stars program that serves more than 1,300 students yearly in seventeen Miami-Dade middle schools. The program helps students living in at-risk communities with teacher-led homework help, introduces students to different career options and uses sports to teach them a healthy lifestyle. The College of Education contributes their experienced faculty, who are developing teaching methods to help students succeed in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) courses. FIU After-School All-Stars expanded to include nine more middle schools in January 2015. The program also benefits College of Education students by giving them the opportunity to gain hands-on experience teaching young people.
How to Give
- Recurring Biweekly Payroll Deductions – Your Gift Amount will be deducted continuously. (i.e., $1.92 = $1.92 per pay period until you request a change)
- One Payment Payroll Deduction – Your Gift Amount will be deducted from one pay check only. (i.e., $100 = $ 100 from one pay period)
